Job Description

My client is currently hiring a Project Manager Architect in their New York City, NY - Multiple Offices with Architecture Project Manager with 5+ years' experience to serve as a Project Manager Architect on a wide variety of building projects. Never get pigeon-holed into one role exclusively for a firm! But, be exposed to an assortment of challenges that will help grow your personal portfolio. This position is a career growth opportunity leading to a Principal Architect position down the road with all the responsibilities that come with it. The successful candidate shall have the following responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of the design and construction process of a building project, from developing and reviewing building plans to making sure a project meets environmental and zoning standards. Responsibilities Include: Preform Project Management task for Architectural projects within the Division including, but not limited to:

  • Development of Building Programs
  • Lead the Schematic Design phase
  • Lead the Design Development phase
  • Oversee the production of Construction Documents and Specifications
  • Coordinate all Consulting Engineers and Project Team members
  • Assist with the Bidding phase
  • Assist in the preparation of presentation materials for project meetings
  • Issue Addenda as required
  • Conduct construction site visits as necessary
  • Assist in the firm's marketing effort by making marketing calls, attending pre-proposal meetings, and maintaining client relationships

Interpersonal Requirements

  • Ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, contractors, staff and other agencies
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Organization skills and ability to multi-task, capability to work well under pressure, juggle and prioritize multiple projects, and adjust work accordingly

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Architectural licensed in the state, Architect Registration Exam (ARE), being a Project Manager is not enough. MUST BE AN ARCHITECT
  • Licensure in other states (NCARB) is preferred, but not required
  • Plan or design all types of structures
  • Knowledge of Architectural detailing, construction methodologies, and project management
  • Ability to work well with colleagues in a team environment, keeping multiple projects on schedule and in budget
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
