Our client is currently seeking a Senior Materials Manager
Transform Materials Management unit for Consumer Products Manufacturing Leader in a brand new facility!
This job will have the following responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly self-motivated individual for the role of Senior Materials Manager. This individual will have an exciting opportunity in helping transform the materials management group in our client's new 130,000 sq. ft. Manufacturing and Warehousing facility in Bell, California. In this role you will own, define, and design the processes to support receiving, raw material and packaging component issues and returns to manufacturing, inventory management for both raw material and finished good and shipping to our 3PL distribution center. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: •Enhance the Client's Personal Care Materials Management capabilities through identifying and establishing best-in-class systems. •Develop staffing models to ensure department is appropriately staffed and trained to meet all capacity requirements •Drive continuous improvement of the Materials Management network design •Develop and implement protocols and practices to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of strategic initiatives •Apply new warehouse technologies to minimize errors and improve efficiency •Develop reports and dashboard to monitor performance against metrics and KPIs •Manage the creation, implementation and compliance for all documentation, procedures and policies •Manage operations of Materials Management network including assembly of kitted components, receiving, and shipment of product •Hire, train, develop, direct, mentor, and evaluate team members to accomplish established goals. •Ensure development, implementation and maintenance of appropriate training curricula •Assist in managing the budget and ensure the department adheres to the approved budget •Provide periodic reports to Site Leadership on progress and challenges. Qualifications & Requirements:
- Minimum Qualifications : •Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering or related discipline; and/or MBA preferred •At least 7-10 years of relevant Material Management experience in a manufacturing environment with specific emphasis on manufacturing, and supply chain. •In depth knowledge of Supply Chain Operations with advanced analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills •Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential in this collaborative work environment
- Preferred Qualifications: •Experience with RF warehousing systems strongly preferred •Proficient in MS word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Warehousing software •APICS, Project Management, and/or Six Sigma certification preferred •Working knowledge and understanding of GMP, SQF, ISO 14001 and FDA guidelines •Strong management skills and experience in commercial manufacturing with the flexibility to handle multiple tasks •Self-motivated and willing to accept other responsibilities outside of initial job description Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
