Successful candidate will direct and perform transport system installations utilizing knowledge and experience working with the OSI layers 1, 2, 3 specifically. Design solutions to transport native serial data types such as video, voice, and telemetry over an IP based network architecture utilizing VLANS, QOS, and real-time protocols. Monitor, manage, and tailor the transport and network performance parameters to meet the unique data type specifications and security requirements. Successful candidate will directly interface with engineers, technicians and customers at all levels from quotation to final design including test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with directed requirements and specifications. Coordinate with other logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and requirements. Documentation requirements typically include developing, verifying, and maintaining technical documents for system and subsystem specifications, operating instructions and test procedures while complying with engineering and documentation standards. Other documentation requirements may include the preparation and submission of technical papers, proposals, and level of effort for proposed scope of work. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
The successful candidate of this position will perform primarily as an enterprise telecommunications engineer while also having basic knowledge and some experience working with traditional packet based networks.

This position involves work typical of an office environment with no unusual hazards. Routine travel to remote Company work locations may be required.
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline or formal academic/vocational/military training and a minimum of 10 years experience in the Telecommunications and Networking field. The incumbent must possess broad knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of engineering that enables the employee to perform as a senior technical contributor on complex projects or programs. The position requires knowledge and skill sufficient to apply developments in engineering to solve problems in the specialty area. Have excellent communications and analytical skills; Working knowledge of computer systems and integrated software application programs. The position may require the ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions to problems in operational hardware and software. Must qualify for and maintain a top secret security clearance and possess a valid state issued driver's license.
