We are currently seeking a Design and Application Engineer for our facility in Torrance, CA.
This position is responsible for reviewing, interpreting and
developing design and manufacturing plans for aerospace components. This
position is also responsible for providing technical support and assistance
both internally and externally.
Convert customer’s requirements into product designs and
Works closely with manufacturing in areas of tooling, gaging
Contribute to the improvement of existing products and
manufacturing methods to meet the customer demands.
Provide technical consultation on product design,
application and service problems, quality deviations and material and parts
Establishes testing requirements, test plans and reports
test results to customers.
Provide technical support to the Sales force in the areas of
customer support, review of new applications, system analysis, design
improvements, support of production efforts.
Work with customers to resolve technical problems related to
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related engineering field and a minimum 5 years of experience in design, mechanical design, application related analysis or manufacturing methods and/or related engineering activities, or a combination of education and training which would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required to complete outlined responsibilities.
Also requires experience in Drafting methods, print generation / checking and issuance.
Desirable: Experience working with aerospace fasteners, and components.
Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory and factor analysis.
Must have knowledge of Database Software, Design Software, Internet Software, Project Management Software, Spreadsheet Software and Word Processing software.
