Work for a thriving company headquartered in Saint Louis, MO and is a leader in providing design and consulting for clients requiring solutions to their facilities and infrastructure challenges in the transportation, healthcare, large campus environments and critical infrastructure markets. They are seeking a qualified mechanical engineer to join its thriving engineering practice.


You will be responsible for mechanical system design and consulting for projects including new installations, renovations, and system upgrades. Project types will vary from stand-alone HVAC systems to large campus infrastructure upgrades. Experience with design-build projects, LEED certification, and energy modeling is considered a plus.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the mechanical system design and/or consulting from its inception to completion.
• Develop and evaluate HVAC system concepts and options to determine best design and engineering solution for each project based upon project scope.
• Responsible for design of the mechanical systems including preparation of all engineering calculations including load calculations, equipment selection and layout throughout life of the project.
• Perform systems analysis and prepare reports and studies as well as cost estimates.
• Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for bidding and construction.
Actively lead and coordinate with in-house engineers, designers, CAD technicians and clerical staff.
• Actively interface and coordinate with external clients, consultants, and construction partners.
• Perform construction administration services.
• Assist team in achieving project budget and management of resources.
• Provide mentorship for other engineers and designers within the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• 5 years or more of experience in design and consulting for HVAC systems.
• Candidate must be a licensed Professional Engineer.
• Be proficient in HVAC load calculation and energy simulation software programs.
• Working experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and MS Office Products.
• Ability to self-manage throughout the project and work as part of a team.
• Proven communication, organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Active participation in industry organizations.
