Horstman Defence Systems Limited is a UK based business with a vibrant export portfolio. We provide a full solution from design and production engineering , through prototyping, manufacture, assembly, test, and logistics support. Recognised as a world leading designer and developer of military suspension, solutions range from lightweight-wheeled and air portable vehicles, through infantry and engineer vehicles up to the heaviest of Main Battle Tanks. Suspension products include: Hydrogas®, Hydrostrut®, InArm®, Integral Rotary Dampers, Lever Arm Rotary Dampers and Running Gear and Track Tensioners. We combine the expertise of Horstman Systems Inc, Canada to offer a strong systems engineering and design capability in electronic and electro-hydraulic active ride management and height control.

In the US - Horstman Inc, Michigan provides engineering, PM, manufacturing, assembly and test services to prime contractors and vehicle OEMs on wheeled and tracked armoured vehicles with expertise in defence hydraulics, suspension, gearboxes and systems integration. Additionally, a novel compressible fluid strut technology offers a low cost dual-use system.

Horstman have capability in precision machining, assembly and test of mechanical, electro mechanical and hydraulic assemblies including safety critical components in high strength steels, aluminium and titanium alloys, with exacting machining tolerances and surface finishes required for the defence, sub-sea, oil and gas, aerospace and nuclear markets.
